A father-of-two who took the law into his own hands by running the criminals who targeted his home off the road was jailed - while the pair avoided a prison sentence. 

The two men are now suing electrician Adam White, 34, after he sped after them in his Mercedes 4x4 as they tried to evade him following the attempted burglary in Leighton Buzzard, Beds, in September 2019.

They had been armed with a crowbar and bolt cutters when they attempted the burglary, targeting Mr White's home where he was with his wife Lindsay, 34, and their two children, aged 10 and eight.

The would-be burglars sustained serious injuries after being thrown from the stolen motorbike, including a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and broken bones. 

They are now suing Mr White's car insurers for £1million, his wife has said.

Mr White was jailed in February for 22 months at Luton Crown Court for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. 

Taylor Benford and Ryan Paul, both 25, were given suspended sentences and 200 hours community service at the same court for the attempted burglary in Leighton Buzzard, Beds, in September 2019.
