A vicious, foul-mouthed screaming match between two very angry men has horrified the normally reserved world of club golf after the pair almost came to blows on the green.

In a video filmed at Cranbourne Golf Club in Melbourne's south east, the men unleashed a volley of verbal abuse at each other, repeatedly using the F-word and C-word to make their point.

It is not clear what exactly started the altercation, but it very quickly escalated from bad language to one of them men forcing his forehead against the other man's.

'I don't like spectators so why are there people watching? Why are they on the golf course?' the older man could be heard saying.

The man in the red shirt took great offence at the comment, walking up to the first man and telling him to leave the course before 'I knock you the f*** out c***'.
