A bedridden man burned to death on Thanksgiving Day after hospital defibrillator pads set him on fire in front of his horrified wife.

Kathy Stark watched her husband of 35 years, Bobby Ray Stark, go up in flames last Thursday after his blood pressure dropped severely low following complaints about chest pain.

A team of doctors and nurses pushed in a 'crash cart' and attached defibrillator paddles to his chest to 'shock his heart back in sinus rhythm,' according to a GoFundMe set up by his daughter.

Instead of shocking his heart back to a regular rhythm, however, the pads sparked from a faulty wire and created a 'fireball,' which burned Bobby's chest, face, head, hands, throat, and lungs.

Kathy witnessed the flames spreading across her husband's body, telling KSN in tears: 'They started the [defibrillator] paddles, and it just blew up everything. I saw that, and I just burst out.

'I said: "He’s on fire, put him out."'

He was then transferred to Skyline Hospital's burn unit, where he died later that day.
