A man who tried to cash out on his brother's death by taking out four insurance policies worth £520,000 just a week after his death was jailed.
Daniel Banete, 30, Lillington Road, Coventry, was jailed for three years and ordered to pay £190 victim surcharge.
Banete took out four life insurance policies just a week after his brother died each worth between £100,000 and £150,000 from July, 16, to July, 21, 2020,
His brother passed away in hospital from Covid-19 on July, 8, 2020 in Romania.

He gave fake death certificates to the insurance companies with different dates of death between November 2020 to January 2021- this is more than four months after his death.
Benete pleaded guilty to eight charges of fraud by false representation at an earlier hearing.
