About five million Aussies are set to receive a cash boost in less than a week when indexation on Centrelink payments kicks next week.
Centrelink payments are indexed on a regular basis to maintain their value over time. Increases to rates are automatically linked to specific price indices.
From March 20, People on the age pension, disability support pension and carer payment will receive an extra $19.60 a fortnight for singles and $29.40 for couples every two weeks, starting March 20.
The maximum rate of pension will rise to $1,116.30 for singles and $1,682.80 for couples a fortnight.
