In her otherwise unmemorable speech in the City of London on Tuesday, Labour's Rachel Reeves attempted to frame herself as the true heir to Mrs Thatcher.
The shadow chancellor claimed that now, as in 1979 when the Iron Lady first occupied No 10, Britain 'required a decade of national renewal'.
Speaking soon after, shadow foreign secretary David Lammy decided he would get in on the act.
Hoping to appeal to disillusioned Tory voters, Lammy claimed: 'Margaret Thatcher was a visionary leader for the UK. No doubt about it — that's absolutely clear.' What a fraud.
Lammy has a long history of blasting Mrs T and even claimed she ruined his childhood.

In 2010, he told the Commons: 'I remember the restlessness, the fecklessness and the worklessness of the broader community and the explosion of violence we experienced as a direct result.'
Lammy and his siblings were raised by his mother in North London after his father left the family; he attended the highly prestigious King's School, Peterborough on a choral scholarship.
Even when it came to Brexit, Lady T wasn't able to escape Lammy's criticism, despite having died three years before the referendum took place. He wrote in 2019: 'Brexit is Thatcherism on steroids, pushed by her modern-day disciples.'
