Sunbury, Melbourne: Teens allegedly broke into homes armed with machetes before ... trends now

Three teenagers who allegedly broke into two homes armed with machetes before stealing a car have been arrested after a wild police chase.

 Police said three offenders armed with machetes committed two home invasions and an attempted carjacking at Mickleham about 6:30am. Nobody was injured in the attacks.

The three youths were then pursued as they drove an allegedly stolen vehicle through Wyndham Vale, Werribee and suburbs in Melbourne's north-west. 

Police said they were followed by a police helicopter and reached speeds of up to 200 kph in the stolen vehicle. 

The pursuit, which involved up to 12 police cars, ended at the Sunbury Square Shopping Centre carpark at about 10am.
