Shark caught in plastic ring at Seal Rocks, NSW trends now

A distressing video has emerged of a shark swimming with a plastic ring stuck around its body, cutting into its skin.
The female juvenile grey nurse shark was spotted swimming in waters at Seal Rocks, on NSW's mid north coast, on March 24 by the Forster Dive Centre.
A huge chunk of the shark's skin had been cut out by the plastic ring, seen wedged around her upper body near her head.
The dive centre shared the heartbreaking footage as a reminder of the impacts incorrectly disposing of rubbish can have on marine life.

'She's been living with what looks to be a round ring of plastic similar to a frisbee and it's cutting badly into her body,' they said.
'She's about 1.6metres long and probably won't survive too long like this.'
Amelie Chipeaux, the lead diving instructor at the centre, said it was devastating to see the shark so helpless.
'I was lucky enough to have a close look at her and it seems the ring around her body was very thick and I couldn't help her,' she told Daily Mail Australia.
