A mother has claimed she and her poorly son who had been put in a taxi to get to hospital because of an ambulance shortage were dumped in the street when he began to suffer an asthma attack and was sick.

Chelsealee Ferguson, 27, claims the taxi driver became furious after her son Hayden, 5, was sick.

The car, operated by Express Taxis was sent by the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS), as part of an emergency contract with the firm to take patients to hospital when an ambulance isn’t available.

The terrifying ordeal happened in Stirling, Scotland, on Tuesday leaving the mother-of-three fearing the worst for her little boy, as they were left on a busy residential street 15 minutes from Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Chelsealee told MailOnline Hayden needed urgent care and spent five hours in Resus when they eventually arrived at A&E, she added: ‘My dad had to end up leaving his work to come and pick us up. It sounded like Hayden was taking his last breath.
