A Durham nightclub dubbed 'the worst in Europe' has closed down after more than 40 years of operation- as Dominic Cummings who used to work there paid tribute.
Klute, known for its sticky dancefloors, cheesy tunes and packed atmosphere, reportedly shut its doors for the final time on April 20.
The nightclub was previously branded the 'second worst in Europe' by FHM Magazine but claimed the top spot by default after the worst one burnt down.
Cummings, Boris Johnson's former advisor, paid tribute to Klute today - where he once worked collecting money on the door.
He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: 'Farewell Klute, the best nightclub outside Moscow, after working there dealing with SW1 felt like easy mode.
'Few know my dad and uncles named it after watching the classic 70s film, watch it if you never have (Maybe The Startup Party should buy the building for our northern HQ...).'

Klute was previously owned by Cummings's uncle but its ownership was taken over by Tokyo Industries in 2013.
