A council was warned about dangerous potholes along a stretch of road two months before a man was killed in a horror crash in same area.

A 74-year-old man died in an incident on the A272 Horsham Road near Petworth in West Sussex on April 29, when his Porsche collided with a 65-year-old man in a white BMW. Two other vehicles, a black BMW and a white Audi, were also involved.

Now police officers are investigating the possibility that 'one of the cars swerved to avoid the pothole', causing the tragedy.

Reports sent into West Sussex Council on March 14, reveal that the council was warned of dangerous potholes on the same stretch of the A272 Horsham Road between Petworth and Fox Hill in the weeks before the crash.
