Western Australia police hosted an impromptu disco by switching on their flashing lights and turning up the radio for a group of young children while driving them back home.

Wyndham police Sergeant Simon Womersley said the dance party started when two officers decided to give the kids a lift back following a minor incident.

Sgt Womersley refused to disclose what the incident was which led the kids hitching a ride with the cops.
