A collision between two trams within Melbourne’s inner city has still left 15 people injured.

The 2 trams crashed at a quit on the corner of Bourke Street and Spencer Streets, outdoors the busy Southern Cross Place, shortly before 3pm on Wed.

A witness said the power of the collision sent the pregnant woman and her kid ‘flying’ through the air, whilst an elderly woman was tossed right into a pole and other commuters were left ‘shaken’.

‘A lady flew and strike her head, that was the bit traumatizing. Iâm still trembling, ‘ witness Yasmin Khushari told 3AW.

Ms Khushari also told the particular Herald Sun that the crash between the trams was ‘really strong’ and that people had been waiting at a door in order to step off when the accident happened.

‘This old lady before me she had a walking cane and was getting ready : she flew and hit the particular pole within the tram, ‘ the girl said.

‘Everyone was screaming plus flying everywhere…  I think I actually got lucky because I had been sitting down.

‘This other woman – she was pregnant : and her head was hemorrhaging and her mother or some thing shouted: “Call the ambulance! contact the ambulance”. ‘

Peak hour commuters are expected to face gaps, as Yarra Trams crews carry on to work in order to the picture.
