The landfill search for a missing RAF gunner has resumed after the original five-month hunt for his body was called off.

Corrie McKeague was last seen walking through Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk after a night out with friends.

The search of a landfill site was called off in July with no evidence of his body found.

Police have embarked on a search of landfill in Milton, Cambridgeshire, which is likely to take from four to six weeks.

Mr McKeague, from Fife, Scotland but based at RAF Honington in Suffolk, was last seen on CCTV at 3.25am on September 24 last year.

CCTV footage shows a bin lorry near Brentgovel Street in Bury St Edmunds around the time the 23-year-old was last seen.

It then took a route which appeared to coincide with the movements of his phone.

The bin lorry was initially thought to have collected a 24lb (11kg) load, but police said it was later found to be more than 220lb (100kg).
