This is the terrifying moment a thug wearing a sinister clown mask tried to rob an off-licence with an eight-inch knife but was bravely fought off by a student.
Osbourne Walton, 36, was high on drugs when he stormed into Bal's Wines in West Bromwich, West Midlands and demanded cash on December 27.
But he got more than he bargained for when the brave shop worker Harman Singh, a college student, refused to hand the money over and fought off the masked thug with his bare hands.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows Mr Singh grappling with the junkie thug for several minutes on the shop floor as displays topple to the ground.
After they struggle for a few minutes, Mr Singh is able managing to wrestle the knife free.
The courageous college student was then able to restrain Walton until police officers arrived.
Walton pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article and was jailed for five years at Wolverhampton Crown Court last Friday.
Sentencing, Judge James Burbidge QC praised Mr Singh for his 'great courage and fortitude' before telling Walton: 'I determine you are a dangerous offender.'
The court heard the brawl caused 'mayhem' as the pair knocked into displays, bringing them crashing down, scattering food and other items across the floor.
