Kim Jong-un meets China's foreign minister in North Korea

North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un today met China's foreign minister, according to China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry confirmed the meeting through a social media post on their official account on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent to Twitter.

China's foreign minister, Wang Yi, arrived in North Korea's capital on Wednesday.

It's thought that Mr Wang is trying to ensure a larger role for Beijing in the new round of nuclear diplomacy with Pyongyang that had been driven by Seoul and Washington.

More substantial discussions on the North's denuclearization - including what, when and how it would occur - are expected between Kim and President Donald , who could meet in May or June. The North's state-media have not yet commented on Wang's arrival in Pyongyang.
