Bizarde hair salon — the former Coupe Bizzarre — may have moved to the corner of St-Laurent Duluth Ave. a few years ago, but it is still an embodiment of Montreal's ethos.

Few places embody Montreal’s ethos more than Bizarde hair salon.
Dating back to its opening as Coupe Bizzarre in 1986, the salon has been edgy, but in a warm and accessible way.
Yannick Ross first visited the salon in 1990. He has now worked there as a hairdresser for 17 years and has customers ranging from two to 81 years old.
“It seemed like a place full of free, creative, alternative people,” he says.
Asked to describe Bizarde’s style, current owner Véronique Cry says it isn’t bound by conventions: “We take the time to talk to people and offer something that suits the client.”Related
