Aldi has been awarded the title of ‘Best Grocer’ at the Retail Week Awards 2019.

The German supermarket, which operates numerous branches throughout the UK, won a total of two awards including ‘Best Own Brand Range’.

Aldi beat off stiff competition from the likes of Ocado, Tesco, and Morrisons.

The awards, which have been running for 24 years, are a symbol of excellence within the retail sector and are judged by a panel of esteemed industry experts.

Aldi has over 10,000 stores in 20 countries and has a turnover of more than £43 billion annually.

There are 775 of the stores in the UK, and the first one opened in 1990.

The discount store is known for its offers, giving shoppers the chance to enjoy competitively low prices.

The title of ‘Best Grocer’ was given to Aldi in recognition of its achievements and successes over the past year as well its longstanding commitment to delivering products of the highest quality at unbeatable prices.

The retailer also won Best Own Brand Range for Aldi Mamia.
