Debbie McGee, 60, opened up about her time competing on the Channel 4 show Kirstie’s Celebrity Craft Masters, where she went head to head with Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, 26. The Strictly Come Dancing finalist took part in a series of craft challenges against the reality television star last month and admitted it was no easy feat. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Debbie revealed she found it difficult to complete designing a cushion due to the difficult pattern. She divulged: “The hardest thing was a cushion because it was a complicated pattern. I don’t think without help I would’ve been able to make that.
The hardest thing
“They gave me the pattern and it guided me a little bit. So I think that was the toughest thing.”
Despite losing out on being crowned craft master champion, the BBC Radio Berkshire host admitted she is a competitive person.
Debbie said: “I’m very competitive. But I’m not heartbroken if I don’t win.I’m a great believer in what’s meant to be will be.
“And usually if I don’t win, the person whose won needed it more than me.”
She continued: “I like being the underdog. Unless there’s a big cash prize then it might hurt a bit more. Which wasn’t the case here but I am competitive. I want to do my best and I want to do well.”
Meanwhile, the Strictly star recently opened up about her late husband Paul Daniels, who died in 2016.
