David James will take to the dance floor for his first dance tonight with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova. But the pressure may be slightly off of him and the rest of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing stars tonight as there will be no elimination. All of the contestants want to stay in for as long as possible and they can all agree that no one wants to be the first star voted off.
Former England footballer David James was announced as the first contestant for this year’s line-up.
David revealed he had been asked to join the show on previous occasions but turned the BBC down.
However after finally agreeing to strut his stuff on the dance floor he might not get to try out too many new moves.
Ahead of the first live show of the series, David is the favourite to face the first elimination.

Ladbrokes have placed the former goalkeeper the most likely to be eliminated first at 3/1.
His fellow former sportsman James Cracknell is close behind at 4/1.
Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Unfortunately for David punters reckon his time on the show will be over before it’s really begun, and fellow from athlete James could be out of the door shortly afterwards as well.”
