Tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing saw Anneka Rice tackle the Cha Cha Cha with last year’s champion Kevin Clifton and while many viewers were delighted by her performance, judge Craig Revel Horwood wasn’t convinced.

Anneka and Kevin were dressed in matching jumpsuits for their first routine which harked back to the presenters time hosting Challenge Anneka.

The 60-year-old was all smiles as she performed with the professional dancer but admitted she didn’t think it was the best first routine.

She told Tess Daly: “I just love it, love it Tess, love it so much. Absolute rubbish but loved it.”

The judges agreed with Anneka noting there was room for improvement - particularly Craig.

He told her: “Well that was flat footed, very stiff and lacked any hip action.”

The judge added he felt she was holding back and was secretly better at dancing than she was letting on.

“You are better secretly than you’re making out,” he told a shocked Anneka.

Chatting to host Claudia Winkleman ahead of hearing the judges’ scores, Anneka gasped: “Craig thought I was holding something back…”
