Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is the second wife of Prince Charles and the stepmother of Prince William and Prince Harry. She assists the Prince of Wales, the heir apparent to the British throne, with his official duties and is also the patron, president and a member of several charities and organisations. But why was she absent from Princess Eugenie’s wedding and will she snub Princess Beatrice in the same way?
Princess Eugenie walked down the aisle to marry Jack Townsend on October 12, last year at St George’s Chapel.
Several celebrities and members of the Royal Family were counted among the exclusive 850 invited guests.
However, Camilla, was not one of them.
But why was Camilla absent from the royal wedding?

Instead of attending the day’s festivities, Camilla undertook two engagements involving school-age children.
She was in Scotland on the day and was unable to attend the wedding.
Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter tweeted: “Turns out Camilla is carrying out two engagements with a number of children on Friday 12th, Eugenie’s wedding day.
“This stuff is not as easy to reschedule as you might think.”

A Telegraph report suggested it was not only the school commitments that she could not move.
Reports surfaced that Camilla was not attending the Friday wedding at Windsor Castle because she was hosting a shooting party at her Scottish home over the following weekend.
