Lucas Black has been in NCIS: New Orleans since the show began in 2014 so his departure from the show was unexpected. His character has played a major part in the investigations over the years and will be missed. But why is he leaving?
After the murder of his brother Cade (Clayne Crawford), Lasalle was on a mission to get justice for him.
However, while searching around a cabin looking for answers, a shooter stormed in and to save a woman who was helping him, he dove in front of her to take the bullet.
Unfortunately, despite surviving emergency surgery, he later died in hospital.
Black has since spoken out about why he wanted to leave.
