LABOUR candidate Tony Lloyd was grilled by BBC Politics Live host Jo Coburn over the party’s plan to negotiate a Brexit deal and then campaign for Remain in a second referendum.

Tony Lloyd was left forced to defend the Labour Party’s Brexit stance. He argued Keir Starmer will negotiate the best possible deal available. Ms Coburn pointed out to Mr Lloyd over Jeremy Corbyn’s refusal to reveal his position on Brexit.

Speaking on BBC’s Politics Live, Mr Lloyd said: “We’ve got an election next week in which the decision will be made by the voting public of this country will have a referendum.

“The decision will be made by the voting public of this country.

“Jeremy Corbyn is one person in that.”

The BBC host interjected: “But he’s the leader of the party, Tony Lloyd. He’s not just one person.
