Emmerdale’s Isobel Steel, who plays Liv Flaherty in the ITV soap, will find herself involved in a harrowing storyline in coming episodes, that will see her struggle to come to terms with her epilepsy. But in a saddening plot twist, will her condition leave her isolated from those she needs most?
Viewers have watched as Liv suffers from seizures in recent episodes, as the show explores how epilepsy affects young people.
The storyline has been praised by charity Young Epilepsy, whose chief executive Mark Devlin, said he is hopeful that it will raise awareness of the condition.
“It has been fantastic to work with Emmerdale on Liv’s seizure storyline and we hope this will help shine a light on some of the issues faced by young people living with epilepsy,” he said.
"We also want to enable young people to join in conversations about facing epilepsy to raise awareness and reduce the isolation they can sometimes feel."
