Carla Connor and Peter rocked as ghost from her past returns? #CoronationStreet

Carla Connor (played by Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) have had a tough year on Coronation Street but the pair ended 2019 stronger than ever. Following her breakdown, Carla has been taking things slowly as she adjusts to life back on the cobbles but the time she spent away from the Street will come back to haunt her in the months ahead and it could spell trouble for her and Peter.

The businesswoman took some time away from Underworld so she could focus on her mental health.

Carla has been enjoying growing closer to Peter and stepped up when his brother Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) lost his wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn).

In upcoming months, ITV soap boss Iain MacLeod has revealed Carla will slowly make her way back into the business world.

“First we all felt that we wanted to see Carla regain her status as Queen of the cobbles,” Iain told Inside Soap.

“After the mental health story we told, I felt like we had to have a period where she looked after herself rather than ran a business like the kind of ball-breaking go-getter we know that she can be.

“All of that has given me an appetite to see her get back in the saddle, so we’ll see her regain some of her former status.”

Iain warned viewers will also find out what happened to Carla during the weekend she went missing last year.
