What inspired the creation of The Stranger on ?

The eagerly-anticipated mystery series The Stranger was released on on Thursday, January 30, with all eight episodes now available to watch on the streaming service. The mini-series stars actor Richard Armitage who was in The Hobbit and Spooks. He will play family man Adam Price whose life turns upside down when he gets told a dark secret about his wife.

The Stranger will show the unfolding story of when Adam is approached by a stranger (Hannah John-Kamen) who tells him his wife Corinne (Dervla Kirwan) faked a pregnancy and the following miscarriage.

This then leads him to dig deeper into his wife’s past and looking more into whether this could be possible.

But the more he investigates the allegation, the more he finds out he wishes he didn’t know.

What inspired the creation of The Stranger on ?

The Stranger on is based on the novel with the same name, by American author Harlan Coben who was also the creator and executive producer on the television adaptation.

Coben is an international No 1 bestseller who has published other bestselling books including Tell No One, No Second Chance and Tell No One.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Coben says the story behind The Stranger was actually inspired by real life.
