The latest series of Strictly Come Dancing saw Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse lift the Glitterball Trophy after weeks of strutting their stuff on the dance floor. However, as fans look forward to the next set of celebrities to take to the floor, has a former Wimbledon winner been revealed as the first star to sign up?
Last year’s series saw a host of sporting stars sign up to the BBC competition including Paralympian Will Bayley.
Former England cricketer James Cracknell and former England goalkeeper David James also took part.
According to the latest Strictly odds, Maria Sharapova could be about to join the long list of sporting heroes that have taken up dancing.
The Russian superstar has announced her retirement from the sport and bookmakers reckon Strictly could be her next move.

Ladbrokes have placed Maria at just 2/1 to pair up with a Strictly professional.
“Strictly chiefs could serve up the best line-up ever this year with Sharapova potentially taking part in the show if the latest odds are anything to go by,” Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said.
However, if the tennis ace does sign up she will likely hope not to follow in the footsteps of her predecessors.
James and Luba Mushtuk were the first to be voted out, while David and Nadiya Bychkova were booted out in week five.
