One Direction began their hiatus four years ago following the departure of Zayn Malik. But despite each of the five members — Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan — launching their solo careers, fans are absolutely convinced this is the year the boyband will reunite. Now, bookies have strengthened that resolve with another price change.
Ladbrokes have cut odds on a One Direction happening before the year is out from 1/2 to just 4/9 since the start of the week.
With the bookmaker’s indicating the comeback is looking even more likely, is there a chance 1D fans could finally get their wish?
Earlier this week, Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati told Express.co.uk: “One Direction are far from History if the latest odds are anything to go by, with a 2020 reunion being the One Thing fans can seemingly look forward to this year.”
The bookies’ move comes as former One Direction star Styles has revealed he’s recording new music after news he was writing again amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The Falling hitmaker, who released his second solo album back in December, is currently stuck in California, unable to fly home due to the isolation and lockdown measures put in place to suppress the spread of COVID-19.
Having recently said he was using the time to compose new music, Styles told Dermot O’Leary he had also been recording during an interview on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this week.
Opening up about how he was coping with the lockdown, he said: “I’ve worked here a lot so I have friends here and stuff, and I’m lucky enough to be quarantining with a couple of friends.
“We all started at the same time, with each other, which was nice.
