Countdown star Carol Vorderman 'in tears' amid big announcement in new move

The former Loose Women star revealed she will be fronting her own show for BBC One Wales.

In view of her 439,000 Twitter followers, Carol wrote: "I have a new TV SHOW @BBCOneWales starting next Thursday 7.30pm to celebrate all the special people and moments of the week in Wales...send me stories and videos and names and photos #TheGreatIndoors...it's made about you and for you."

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as many shared congratulatory messages with the star.

One person commented: "If only we could visit Wales - soon I hope."

Carol's announcement comes just hours after she admitted she was "in tears" like much of the nation following Captain Tom Moore's birthday celebrations.

BBC Breakfast captured the moment a Spitfire and Hurricane flew over Captain Tom Moore's home to mark his 100th birthday.

The former Countdown legend retweeted the video clip, which read: "The amazing moment a Spitfire and Hurricane flew over @captaintommoore's house to mark his 100th birthday on #BBCBreakfast #CaptainTom100."
