Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 55, married Prince Edward, 56, in 1999 and is said to be Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite daughter-in-law. Edward is the only one of the Queen’s children not to have divorced and given the Queen is a fan of stability, this may be one of the key reasons she has a soft spot for Sophie.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Sophie, Countess of Wessex has shown herself to be an exemplar royal and was snapped in a face mask and gloves volunteering with a host of local charities during lockdown.
While Sophie and Edward do not have their own official Twitter account their royal work is often promoted by the Royal Family’s official account.
Sophie was last seen out in public when she visited at a Surrey pub in early July.
There she chatted to the landlord and staff about how business was coping in the wake of lockdown.

Sophie and Prince Edward may not have been photographed out and about in recent weeks but the low key royal couple have been busy nonetheless.
The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Caring for Life, held a Meeting with beneficiaries of the charity via video conference.
Prince Edward, the President of Seafarers UK (King George's Fund for Sailors), held a meeting via video link with Vice-Admiral Peter Wilkinson upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman of General Council and Paul Butterworth upon assuming the appointment.
