Martin Lewis explained to Britons that they should think about changing their energy provider for winter to help save hundreds of pounds. Speaking on The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, he shared the best way to find great deals on gas and electric bills.

After a short break from social media and our TV screens, the Money Saving Expert recently returned with his popular show. 

On tonight’s show, Martin gave out advice on energy bills and how to make hundreds of pounds of savings. 

Winter is looming which means many people may be spending more time indoors with the heating switched on. 

Energy bills are extremely expensive and so in order to find the best deal, Martin advises people to look around for the cheapest supplier.

He said: “Sort out your energy bills if you possibly can. Look, I know that the price cap has dropped recently for those on direct debit tariffs on standard tariffs for the big providers, it’s been cut by 80 quid to £1,024 a year - that’s for someone on typical use.

“But that price cap only lasts six months and while it may be a fair price, it isn’t a cheap one.

“Right now, you can lock in for a year with the cheapest tariff on the market - £821.

“£1,042 on the price cap but this is a one year fix lock in for a year, not six months…Now that’s with a company called Green, relatively small, new company.
