Barbarians is on Netflix now and the Germanic series tells the forgotten story of the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. The battle was a pivotal moment in history for the Romans and a group of Germanic clans who refused to live under Roman rule. One of the main characters in the series is Thusnelda (played by Jeanne Goursaud) and Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about her.
Thusnelda was one of the fearless warriors who joined forces with other Germanic clans in order to prevent the growth of the Roman Empire.
German actress Goursaud, who is 24, played the role of Thusnelda and she has been sharing plenty of photos of herself on the set of the series which was filmed in Budapest.
Her character appears in the trailer for the series, and she is heard asking the Germanic tribes to "stand up together" against the Romans.
She tries to encourage Arminius (Laurence Rupp) who was experienced in the ways of the Roman military, to join them instead of the Romans as his loyalty was split between both sides.
Thusnelda and other German leaders attempt the impossible as they encourage all the tribespeople to unite for the same cause - to prevent Roman victory.

In fact, at the start of the series, he attempted to sell her to a man, telling him she will obey him. Meanwhile, Thusnelda was keen to teach her younger brother how to fight.
