Emmerdale is back on ITV and fans were in for a treat as a brand new character was introduced to the cast. Mackenzie Boyd is the brother of Moira Dingle (played by Natalie J. Robb) and he made his first appearance this week (October 29). Fans are keen to know who plays the heartthrob character and Express.co.uk has all you need to know.
Mackenzie Boyd is described as the new troublemaker of the popular soap and he first appeared in Thursday’s episode.
The charming Scotsman has been introduced as the brother of Moira Dingle, and he is played by actor Lawrence Robb.
They may share the same surname in real life, but this is purely a coincidence as the pair are not related in real life.
Mackenzie will be involved in a harrowing kidnapping storyline which will, in turn, shed light on Moira’s past.
His out-of-the-blue arrival surprised fans after Mackenzie introduced himself as her estranged brother, as they were none the wiser of his existence.

Fans are already keen to find out more about actor Robb, 29, as he is a newcomer in the world of British TV.
His most recent role was in the 2020 series I Hate Suzie with Billie Piper. He also starred in The Trouble Downstairs in 2014.
According to his IMDb profile, these are his only two TV credits, but fans have already been blown away by his performance.
The star spoke to Digital Spy about his new role in Emmerdale, and he revealed how Mackenzie is angry at his sister.
His aim in the soap will be to make Moira’s life hell, and he has something he needs to tell her at some stage in the season.
