Damp and mould are caused by the excess water in a property. It can occur in different parts of the home and can cost thousands of pounds to fix.
Excess water can get into the house through leaking pipes, rain seeping through the walls or from condensation.
Damp can become a more obvious issue in the winter months.
Spotting damp early could minimise the risk of it causing mould or damage, expert revealed.
