The former First Lady criticised the outgoing President over his response to the coronavirus health crisis as she said the virus was “downplayed for far too long.” The rant was part of a thread calling on residents of the state of Georgia to vote in the Senate runoff elections.
In the fierce tweets, Ms Obama wrote: "Your vote is your voice. It’s your power. And right now, from the President of the United States on down, we’re seeing and hearing just how desperate some are to take that power away.
“They want us to believe that their pride is more important than our democracy.”
She then mentioned Mr Trump’s alleged attempts to reverse the November election results.
Former President Barack Obama’s wife added: “And this is just unconscionable at a time when a staggering number of Americans are dying every day from a virus that was downplayed for far too long.

“It’s unconscionable to focus on overturning an election rather than helping struggling families or distributing a vaccine.”
Ms Obama’s tweets come after Mr Trump’s psychological state was brought under scrutiny as a video showed him telling Georgia's most senior election official to "find" sufficient votes to overturn the election.
The recording, which was leaked to the Washington Post, features Mr Trump instructing Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger, who is also a Republican.
