The Met Office has issued snow and ice warnings across the UK for today (Thursday, January 7) and tomorrow. A yellow snow and ice warning is in place across swathes of Scotland from 3pm on Wednesday until 11.59pm today, while a yellow ice warning covers the entirety of Northern Ireland from 2pm today until 12pm on Friday. A yellow snow and ice warning covers most of England and Wales, with the exception of parts of London and southern England, from 5pm today until 11.59pm tomorrow. On Friday, parts of Scotland will remain under a yellow snow and ice warning from midnight until 12pm.
Meteorologists are predicting further snowfall, ice and freezing fog for parts of the UK over the course of today and the coming days.
Weather experts John Hammond and Sara Thornton of Weathertrending told Express.co.uk: “There’s been a blanket of snow overnight across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland, and this is now heading through parts of northern England.
“Although this will turn lighter with time, several centimetres of fresh snow are likely across the Pennines, the Cumbrian Fells and the North York Moors, with a light covering at some lower levels too.Insurance Loans Mortgage Attorney Credit Lawyer
“And later in the day the mountains of North Wales will also see a fresh blanket.
