The 74-year-old left the White House last week before Joe Biden was sworn in to become the 46th US President. He refused to attend Mr Biden’s inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, making him the first President to snub a successor’s inauguration since 1869 and only the fourth President to have done so in US history.
Mr Trump also became the first US President to be impeached twice after he was charged by the House of Representatives with “inciting an insurrection” following the violent protests at Capitol Hill.
Mr Trump faces a Senate trial which will decide whether he can ever run for US President again.

Mary, a clinical psychologist, has given several interviews to media outlets in the run up to the end of President Trump’s time in office.
But now she is “prepared” to change her name in order not to be associated with Mr Trump.
The 55-year-old told the Sunday Telegraph: "The damage Donald has done to this country is incalculable.
"We're just waiting to find out how much is irreparable."
