Ri Yong Ho dismissed the President's vow to “totally destroy” the hermit kingdom if it threatened the US and its allies.

When asked about President ’s UN address Mr Yong Ho said: "There is a saying that goes: 'Even when dogs bark, the parade goes on’.”

The dismissive response comes after Mr caused a stir as he ramped up his rhetoric while addressing the UN.

He said: “The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.

“Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime. The United States is ready, willing, and able, but hopefully this will not be necessary.”
