Latest Met Office forecasts expect Storm Emma to target south-west England with blizzard-like weather and treacherous conditions.
Storm Emma will pummel the region with up to 20cm of snow and strong gusts of wind – leading to the development of "hazardous icy conditions" between Thursday night and Friday.
The Met Office issued its second red weather warning, saying: "A spell of heavy snow and blizzard conditions are expected. The snow will be accompanied by very strong easterly winds leading to severe drifting.
"Some places could also see significant ice build-up due to freezing rain from later on Thursday evening, most likely in the south of England."
