The final episode of The Handmaid’s Tale saw June (played by Elisabeth Moss) almost escape Gilead with her baby Holly.
However, at the last minute, June handed her baby to Emily (Alexis Bledel) and returns to Gilead in order to rescue her daughter Hannah.
It was revealed that the father of Holly, Nick (Max Minghella) worked alongside Rita (Amanda Brugel) and the Marthas in order to plan June’s escape.
Not much is known about Nick’s life before Gilead and following his involvement in June’s escape, fans are desperate to know more.
Many fans of the series have speculated about what will happen to him in the third series, with some believing he could attempt to take down Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes)
Reddit user Cablab mused: “I’ve noticed that in most articles and interviews, Nick is rarely discussed.
“I felt he did a lot this season, always risking his life to protect June and his baby and trying to help them escape, and doing it so effectively that nobody suspected him of anything.
“Where’s his credit? And now that he’s shown he is willing to play dirty with Fred, will he get some beefier, Emmy-quality scenes, or do you think his character mostly serves a cathartic (enjoyable for the viewers) purpose on the show and will continue to do so?”
