An Australian field hockey player has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of buying cocaine in Paris.
European crime reporter Jean-Baptiste Marty broke news of the alleged arrest in X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday night.
'A member of the Australian field hockey team was arrested last night after [allegedly] buying cocaine on a street in the 9th arrondissement of Paris,' he said.
'The seller, [allegedly] carrying 75 ecstasy pills, 3g of 2 MMC and seven vials of cocaine, was also arrested.'
Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Australian Olympic Committee and Hockey Australia for comment.
It is not known if the arrested athlete was male or female but both Australian teams, the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras, were booted from the quarterfinals earlier this week.
More to come.
