Helen Flanagan opened up on her relationship with David Haye on Monday's episode of Celebs Go dating.
The former Coronation Street star, 34, who split from her fiancé Scott Sinclair, 34, in 2022, appeared in the I'm A Celeb jungle with David in 2012.
Speaking to Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn on the show, Helen became emotional as she admitted she was in love with David.
David is in an open relationship with Sian Osbourne and started dating Helen last year, but things got difficult as Helen struggled with not being the only woman.
Helen explained: 'I'd known him for 10 years. We did a reality show together. I remember the first time, seeing him in the jungle, I was like 'wow.' It was quite something – it's really hard for me to talk about [now].
'He had a girlfriend and an open relationship. I didn't mean to fall in love with him, but I did. We did have this amazing connection together – we were like fire.
'It was weird – I think he does love his girlfriend and he loves me as well. It just brings me to a part in my life that was quite dark.'
When Anna brought up that the relationship was reported as a 'throuple' in the media, Helen said: 'No [it wasn't]. I was in love with him. I wouldn't have enjoyed watching the man I was in love with have sex with another woman, that's not for me.
'I had communication with his girlfriend, but I felt very guilty. I didn't feel nice about it all. It really upsets me because I don't mean to hurt other people but I was just really lonely.
'I found it really difficult because it just happened. It's not nice on another girl and I should've known better.'
Last year, Helen reportedly joined David's throuple after the pair had a flirty exchange with one another.
In exclusive pictures obtained by MailOnline, Helen was seen chatting to David and Sian, at a Heineken after-party following a boxing event.
Onlookers revealed how Helen was particularly enamored by the pair, who previously welcomed The Saturdays singer Una Healy into their romance.
When David and Helen met in the Aussie jungle, the boxer admitted that he thought the soap actress was a 'real cute chick' but said she 'stunk of fake tan'.
It comes amid reports Helen has grown close to former footballer Robbie Talbot, 44.
The new flame hasn't stopped the former Corrie star from appearing on the E4 show as bosses have now reportedly written her relationship with the ex-Morecambe striker into the E4 show in a first for the series.
A spokesperson for the show said producers found out about her new love while she was filming and she was asked to be transparent with the agents.
Helen and Robbie then met with the agents together and it was decided Helen, 34, would no longer date members of the public - developments that will be shown from episode 10, reports The Sun.
Sources had previously claimed despite the fact Robbie was on set with her while Helen filmed the dating show, which follows a group of single celebrities looking for love, it didn't stop the soap star from kissing a date called Luke in one episode.
A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson said: 'During the filming of Celebs Go Dating, the executive producers discovered that Helen Flanagan was in a relationship outside of the CGD process. Once this came to light, Helen was asked to be transparent with the agents and her fellow celebrities during her next filming day.
'As per the show's guidelines, all participating celebrities must be single. After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner, Robbie, would meet with the agents to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date members of the public. These developments will be featured on the show starting from episode 10.'
Appearing on the long-running series, Helen previously spoke about her dating struggle after splitting from ex fiancé Scott Sinclair.
Helen separated from her footballer fiancé in 2022 after 13 years and they have three children Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and Charlie, three.
A source told The Sun: 'Helen tried to keep the relationship under wraps because of Celebs Go Dating. But that's become difficult as their feelings have grown for each other. It came to a head when she was quizzed by the dating agents about why she was failing to pursue connections on the show.
'The one rule of CGD is stars must be single. But E4 bosses were desperate to keep her, so found a way to write Robbie into the show.
'Sources on set have seen him filming alongside Helen. While it's not known how E4 will justify the fakery, viewers will feel they're trying to pull the wool over their eyes.'
MailOnline has contacted Helen's representatives for comment.
Celebs Go Dating airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 9pm on E4.
