Jamie Laing and wife Sophie Habboo have purchased their first family home together.

As stars of scripted reality television show Made In Chelsea, the couple helped promote the expensive area, however, they have now decided to buy their first home in a different corner of west London after previously branding Chelsea 'boring'.

Jamie and Sophie, who tied the knot in a lavish second ceremony in Spain last year, have received the keys for a house in Notting Hill, after having spent three years renting an apartment in the area.

The new abode has a basement, which they will turn into a media room, as well as a garden.

They plan to renovate the property, with a kitchen created by the upmarket firm Smallbone.

Explaining why they were living in a rented property in Notting Hill, Jamie, 35, previously said in an interview last year: 'I found Chelsea boring.'

He told The Times back in May: 'We've been renting a two-bedroom apartment in Notting Hill for three years. I previously owned an apartment in Chelsea, but I found Chelsea boring.

'We also needed to move out because the flat had a history - Sophie didn't like the fact my ex-girlfriends had lived there.'

He is the founder of vegan sweets company Candy Kittens and podcast firm Jampot Productions and is a co-presenter on Radio 1's drive-time slot, Going Home, alongside Vick Hope and Katie Thistleton.

It comes after in January this year, Sophie, 30, told how she and Jamie were 'desperately' looking to move into their first family home.

The former Made In Chelsea couple lived in a central London apartment at the time but were on the hunt for a property in a more residential area.

After marrying in May last year, Sophie said her plan is to find a new place to live with Jamie, but they're currently struggling with the housing market.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Sophie revealed her hopes for the future and how she and Jamie are looking to escape the party lifestyle in the city.

She said: 'We are desperately looking to move into our family home.

'We are on the hunt… we are looking high and looking low. We can't find anything right now but we are actively looking, which is really exciting.

'Jamie and I are looking everywhere, we have no set place… it's a tough market out there.

'I want a bit of greenery, I want it to be a bit more residential, we're in a bit of a busy, party area right now and I want to move to where there's greenery around me and it's quiet and people are walking their dogs around me.
