Paddy McGuinness appeared to see the funny side of his divorce in his new stand-up show.

The comedian, 51, returned to the stage for the first time in eight years on Thursday with his Nearly There show.

And according to The Sun, it took the TV host only one minute for him to bring up his former wife Christine.

The model, 36, and the presenter, 50, got married in June 2011 and went on to welcome twins Leo and Penelope, 10, and seven-year-old Felicity, before splitting in 2022.

Talking to the crowd at Blackburn's King George's Hall, the Bolton native said: 'It's all about love and respect tonight.

Talking tot he crowd at Blackburn's King George's Hall, the Bolton native said: 'Tonight, folks, we're all here as human beings with one common goal ¿ and that's to help me pay for my divorce.'

'Loads of love in this room. I don't care what race you are, what religion, what your sexuality is.

'I don't care how you identify. You can identify as a cat, for all I care.

He then took a brutal swipe at his ex partner: 'Tonight, folks, we're all here as human beings with one common goal — and that's to help me pay for my divorce. I've had the pants down, me, the pants down.'

'I'm thinking of getting Children In Need to do a bike ride for me next year, or come round to a bedsit in Bolton filming me.'

But it wasn't just Christine who Paddy turned the spotlight on.

He also joked about Jeff Bezos, Prince Andrew, Philip Schofield and disgraced former BBC news presenter Huw Edwards.

And while the audience seemed to enjoy his jibes, Christine may not agree.

MailOnline has contacted Christine's reps for comment.

The couple - who have maintained a strong relationship and still live together with their children - settled their divorce amicably, avoiding a lengthy court battle in July.

And while Paddy seems to be holding on to their split, Christine has seemingly moved on.

During an appearance on Loose Women in August, Christine happily announced that she had begun a new romance, but kept tight-lipped on the details, while revealing her 'number one rule'.

She declared: 'I am dating! With terms and conditions. But the number one rule - I'm not doing the cooking.'

Christine was diagnosed with autism in 2021 and struggles with sensory issues surrounding food, but explained she had spoken to her new partner about her preferences ahead of their date.

She said: 'I am dating, it's all brand new, but we spoke a lot before our first date and I explained I don't want to go to a restaurant or eat out.'

Breaking into excited giggles, she concluded: 'It's new, it's exciting, it's nice - that's all I want to say!'

And she proudly declared that she was enjoying pushing herself out of her comfort zone with dating and going on Celebrity MasterChef, saying: 'I want my kids to see me going to work, being happy, trying new things. And I want it for me too.'

Her confirmation she's dating comes after she sparked rumours of a new romance with a cosy footsie snap on holiday

It comes just a month after Christine insisted she was 'happily single', but that she was hopeful she would find love once again.

Speaking to MailOnline last month, she confessed she believed being in a relationship was an 'amazing, magical thing to have in your life', but was adamant she is in no rush to get married a second time.

Christine said: 'Right now I'm really really happy, I've never dated anyone who I haven't had a relationship with, even my teenage years, who I wasn't friends with first, and then it kind of developed into a relationship.

'That was even the situation with my ex-husband, we knew each other for a while before it developed into a relationship.

'But this is the first time I've been completely on my own, and I've got time for myself, and that time's really limited.

'I don't know if I could really offer enough to somebody to be in a relationship right now, it's not that I don't want to.'
