Kourtney Kardashian may appear to have a fairytale romance with husband Travis Barker, but it has come at the cost of her friendships - and also her relationships with her sisters, who have remained fiercely loyal to her ex Scott Disick, insiders claim.
Travis, 48, and Kourtney, 45, started dating in 2021 and quickly bombarded fans with their very public and passionate love affair, before tying the knot the following year - first in Las Vegas, then Santa Barbara and later in Italy's idyllic Portofino.
They welcomed their son Rocky in November 2023 – eight years after Kourtney called it quits for good with Scott, 41, with whom she has children Mason, 14, Penelope, 12, and Reign, nine.
Now, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal that Scott's ongoing relationship with Kourtney’s family irked Travis who was left feeling 'threatened.'
'When Travis got together with Kourtney on the heels of her and Scott’s long romance, he felt threatened by Scott,' a source told DailyMail.com.
'Travis made it awkward for Scott to be around the family when he was there. His constant kissing and groping of Kourtney was his weapon and he knew that it would keep Scott out of the picture - and it did at the time.
'Travis needed Scott to know that Kourtney was his now and, as a result, it caused Scott to distance himself from the Kardashians.'
Kourtney started dating Scott in 2006 and their tumultuous relationship was chronicled on the former E! reality show, Keeping up with the Kardashians, with the couple facing cheating allegations and his rehab stints as well as breaking up multiple times before they finally called it quits in 2015.
Scott continued to feature on the show as they navigated co-parenting, and the father-of-three - known affectionately as 'Lord Disick' - remained close to Kourtney's family.
But when the show rebranded to The Kardashians and jumped ship to Hulu in 2022, Kourtney's relationship with Travis was in full force and Scott revealed he was no longer as close to his ex, admitting it had been 'a huge adjustment losing her as a best friend.'
Both Travis and Scott appeared on season one, with Kourtney left furious that her ex's feelings surrounding her engagement was a big storyline.
Scott took a step back in season two, making one cameo, as he did not wish to be portrayed as the 'villain' in his ex's new romance, prompting a backlash from fans, who demanded he return.
After inking a reported $2 million deal with Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, 68, Scott returned for season three in May 2023. The 'momager' made it clear on Instagram that Scott was going nowhere.
'Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family,' she wrote. 'He's the father of my grandchildren and a special part of our family. We love him and this is not true.'
He was welcomed back with open arms by the entire family in season three and was no longer playing the part of the evil ex, but instead taking on the role of his true self - a devoted father who was an integral part of The Kardashian dynasty.
'Travis' game plan to get Scott out of the picture backfired tremendously,' the insider said.
'He knows that the Kardashian family's loyalty lies with Scott. Kourtney and Scott's kids also are very loyal to their father and will always side with Scott when it comes to Travis' issues with their dad.'
Penelope appeared to reveal her true feelings about her mom and step-dad's PDA when a mother-daughter table tennis game was cut short by Travis' need to kiss his wife during an episode in 2022.
'Mom, no kissing,' Penelope demanded.
Reign also voiced his discomfort when Travis and Kourtney later started making out at the dinner table in front of him.
'Ew, guys! Can you guys not kiss in French again,' he begged.
Kourtney's relationship with her sisters has also suffered since she got together with Travis, with whom she had been friends for years before their relationship turned romantic in 2021.
He was previously married to Shanna Moakler. The former couple share son Landon, 20, and daughter Alabama, 18. He also has a stepdaughter - Atiana De La Hoya, 25.
Following their lavish Dolce & Gabbana-themed wedding in Portofino, Kourtney got into a nasty brawl with Kim Kardashian, 43, over claims the SKIMS founder tried to outshine her older sister on her big day - which exploded during a phone conversation in which Kim told Kourtney: 'You hate me.'
'Why you hate me so much and why you're so angry with me? You have a serious vendetta,' Kim said during The Kardashians wedding special, Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis. 'You hate us, you’re a different person, we all talk about it.'
Kourtney clapped back: 'Because I don’t need you guys anymore, I don’t need to be a part of it.'
The Poosh founder reportedly has a frayed relationship with Kim and Khloe Kardashian, 40, who she allegedly treats like 'coworkers' as opposed to siblings.
'Kourtney started discarding everyone in her life when Travis came into the picture and, since then, it has got progressively worse to the point where she doesn’t seem to care about associating with anyone from her old life,' the insider revealed.
'Kourtney barely talks to Khloe and Kim anymore, aside from when they are filming the show.
'She has pushed them away and deals with them as if they are her coworkers. Things are very fake and forced when filming the show.'
Kourtney has also allegedly cut out her lifelong friends, including Melissa Kolker, Allie Rizzo, Stephanie Shepherd, Brittny Gastineau, Courtenay Semel, and Poosh employee Sarah Howard.
'Kourtney and those girls were like sisters their whole life,' a second insider told DailyMail.com. 'Now she barely even responds to texts or calls.
'She would post photos with them all the time on her social media. She was also seen with them partying at bars and clubs all the time in LA and Las Vegas.
'The girls are all still close with various members of the Kardashian family including Malika Haaq, who is Khloe's best friend.
'Many of them are still close with Scott, too, who they all care deeply for. Scott has always been great to her friends.'
They added: 'But none of Kourtney's old friends are really friends with Travis and have had hardly any contact with Kourtney since she got together with him.'
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Kourtney and Travis for comment.
