Riley Gaines rips into AOC for 'insanity' of 'virtue-signaling' as followers spot change on congresswoman's X account

Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines tore into Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after followers noticed she removed her pronouns from her X account.

The woke congresswoman previously noted she used 'she/her' pronouns on her profile, but that reference has since disappeared.

She also apparently changed her title in her description from 'US Representative' to 'US Congresswoman.'

Following the change, Gaines accused AOC of 'virtue-signaling.'

'They'll pretend they never embraced (or even celebrated) the insanity,' Gaines posted on the social media site Thursday.

'Don't forget who the compliant, virtue-signaling sheep were.'

Gaines later responded to a video from two days ago in which the Squad member apologized to followers for not having pronouns in her Instagram bio, claiming they 'fell off' and she didn't realize.

'We're winning and it's glorious,' Gaines wrote.

She accused the New York Congresswoman of 'virtue-signaling'

She took one final swing at the congresswoman Thursday afternoon, writing: 'How will we know what to call AOC now that her pronouns in her bio are gone?!?!?!'

AOC has long been a supporter of transgender rights, including so-called gender-affirming care for children, and transgender girls competing in female sports.

After the Biden-Harris administration passed sweeping reform to Title IX in April to provide more protection for students' gender identity in schools and universities, Ocasio-Cortez argued it did not go far enough, saying more should have been done to protect trans athletes who want to compete in women's sports.

'Absolutely no reason for the Biden admin to do this. It is indefensible and embarrassing,' she wrote in response to a report saying the change would allow schools to bar transgender athletes from women's and girl's sports.

'The admin can still walk this back, and they should. It's a disgrace,' she said.

The month before, Ocasio-Cortez was part of a Democratic coalition that advocated for a transgender bill of rights.

Their resolution specifically called for federal legislation to ensure that biological men can 'participate in sports on teams and in programs that best align with their gender identity [and] use school facilities that best align with their gender identity.

The New York lawmaker also co-sponsored the Equality Act, which was proposed in 2019 and has had revisions that 'would force public schools to allow biologically male athletes who identify as transgender on girls' sports teams.'

The New York lawmaker removed 'she/her' from her bio, and others noticed she also changed her moniker from the genderless 'Representative' to 'Congresswoman'

More recently, Ocasio-Cortez hit out at Green Party vice presidential candidate, Butch Ware, for saying he did not think trans athletes should compete in women's sports, calling the Green Party ticket 'predatory.'

That, too, sparked Gaines to speak out against the congresswoman.

'AOC says it's predatory behavior to not want men competing in women's sports,' she wrote earlier this month.

'To AOC acknowledging biological reality is "predatory." You know what's actually predatory? Sexualizing children and normalizing pedophilia.'

Gaines wrote about the change in AOC's profile in multiple X posts on Thursday

Many have blamed Democrats' support for transgender inclusion for Vice President Kamala Harris' election loss to President-Elect Donald Trump.

An advertisement showing Vice President Kamala Harris supporting taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgeries for illegal migrant prisoners was played on repeat by Team Trump.

A growing number of Democrats have now changed their stance, with Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton saying that his party spent 'way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face.'

'I have two little girls, I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I'm supposed to be afraid to say that,' he told the New York Times

New York Rep. Tom Suozzi also slammed the party's kowtowing to the transgender lobby.

'The Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left. I don't want to discriminate against anybody, but I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports.'

He added that 'Democrats aren't saying that, and they should be' but Suozzi's record also contains pro-trans legislation.
