Love Island fans branded Ciaran a 'game player' after he asked Nicole to be his girlfriend during Friday's recoupling.
The 21-year-old was quick to suggest they make things offical shortly after learning Sean and Matlida had become exclusive during their date.
Ciaran gushed over Nicole, 24, and said he'd been 's******g himself' over her response to the question, but viewers at home were left unconvinced.
Many believed he was desperate to regain the spotlight from the rival couple and was working hard to ensure he won the show and £50K prize.

It comes following reports that the Love Island cast will get to join the rest of the nation tuning into England's Euro 2024 final, despite being banned from learning the results of the General Election.
While stars are typically cut off from the outside world and all its news during their time in the villa, sources have claimed that the stars will get to watch the match while Aftersun is being broadcast later in the evening.
England will go head-to-head with Spain in the blockbuster Euro 2024 final on Sunday, with its broadcast set to be the most-watched television event of the year.
This comes despite bombshells reportedly being told they should not share results of the recent General Election, despite the cast being advised to vote by proxy before jetting to Mallorca to take part in the show.
A source told The Sun: 'ITV bosses don't want the villa to miss out so the huge decision has been made to show it on a big screen - they'll be watching it while AfterSun is on live on Sunday.
'The rule has always been that NO outside info goes into the villa - bombshells are banned from even saying who won the general election - but this is a very special exception.'
This isn't the first time show bosses have flouted rules for a one-off event, as the 2021 series saw Islanders tune into England's heartbreaking loss against Italy in the Euro 2020 final.
Ahead of the Love Island launch last month, executive producer Mike Spencer confirmed that this year's lineup would still have the opportunity to vote, even if they were due to be in the villa when the registration period closed.
He stated: 'We want to make sure they are voting, because, of course, we want everyone to vote.'
The decision to keep this year's election results a secret may come as a surprise, after show boss Mike Spencer insisting the series strives to education viewers on serious matters around dating and sex.
The series has previously sparked awkward viral moments when focusing on world issues, with Hayley Hughes famously asking whether Brexit was related to 'trees' in the fourth series in 2018.
