This angelic high-school senior grew up to be a double Oscar-winning Hollywood star who is among the greats in cinematic history.
The Lynwood, California native - who began his screen career in 1981 - previously worked as a Hollywood homes tour guide before joining the A-list thanks to his roles in a Western epic and a federal agent trying to bring down Al Capone.
His heartthrob status was cemented with his hunky role alongside a superstar songstress in a 1992 classic and he landed two Oscars in 1993.
In 1995 he was rumored to be dating a Friends actress years before they starred together in 3000 Miles to Graceland.
In recent years he has headed up (and exited) a critically acclaimed Western drama and gone through a high-profile divorce.
So can you guess who it is?
It's Kevin Costner! The star, 69 - now worth an estimated $400million - was recently killed off hit show Yellowstone amid a feud with show creator Taylor Sheridan.
He has won numerous accolades including two Oscars for Dances With Wolves, three Golden Globes, two SAGs and a Primetime Emmy.
He has also directed and produced several movies, including box office flop Waterworld and The Postman.
He starred in and produced 1992's The Bodyguard, playing the titular role of Frank Farmer alongside Whitney Houston's Rachel Marron.
Before fame Costner memorably worked as a bus driver for tours to stars' homes and at Disneyland as a jungle cruise skipper.
The actor has also had a turbulent personal life. He is father to Annie, 40, Lily, 36, and Joe, 36 - whom he welcomed with ex-wife, Cindy Silva. He also shares son Liam, 26, with ex Bridget Rooney.
Costner struck up a flirtation with Friends star Courteney Cox in 1995 but this eventually fizzled out. They starred together in 2001's 3000 Miles to Graceland alongside Cox's then-husband David Arquette.
Costner would wed Christine Baumgartner in 2004.
The John Dutton actor split from Baumgartner, 51, after 19 years of marriage in 2023 - and their acrimonious multimillion dollar divorce battle played out in public.
The star shares Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 13, with Baumgartner.
Costner abruptly left Yellowstone amid rumors of a feud with Sheridan - with his character killed off in an apparent suicide.
Discussing the finale on The Michael Smerconish Program on SiriusXM earlier this month Costner said: 'Well, I’m going to be perfectly honest. I didn’t know it was actually airing last night.
'That’s a swear to God moment. I swear to God. I mean, I’ve been seeing ads with my face all over the place and I’m thinking, "Gee, I’m not in that one."
'I’m not in this season. But I didn’t realize yesterday was the thing. Somebody said, "It played last night?’ And I said, "Hmm, okay." So no, I found out about it this morning actually.”
'I didn’t see it. I heard it’s a suicide, so that doesn’t make me want to rush to go see it.
'I heard what it was, but no, they’re smart people. Whatever they’re doing, they’ll figure it out. But yeah, I had come up with two possible endings back when it wasn’t going to go as long as it did go.'
'They’re pretty smart people. Maybe it’s a red herring. They’re very good. They’ll figure that out.'
It was later revealed a hit man shot John and staged it to look like a suicide. His son Jamie Dutton's girlfriend Sarah (Dawn Olivieri) arranged the hit.
She was later assassinated by a mystery gunman.
