Scottie Scheffler has clinched the PGA TOUR Player of the Year award for the third season in a row, joining Tiger Woods as the only golfer in history to do so.
The American won the Masters and became the first man to retain The Players Championship in a trophy-laden 2024.
The prestigious honours were just two of seven tour wins this year, with Scheffler coming in the top 10 in 16 of his 19 starts over the last 12 months.
The 28-year-old also lifted the FedEx Gold Cup, the trophy awarded to the man who accrues the most points on the PGA Tour across a year, and an Olympic Gold medal for Team USA.
His remarkable season completes three years of dominance for Scheffler after he won the Masters in 2022 and the Players in 2023.
Now he has swept to a well-deserved hat-trick of Jack Nicklaus trophies for the tour's player of the year after claiming a whopping 91 per cent of the vote.
Xander Schauffele, who won two majors this year at the PGA Championship and the Open, was left far behind his compatriot after a polling of PGA Tour members from November 25 to December 4.
Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, came third despite two tour wins this season and a near miss at the US Open. He is in an elite trio, along with Scheffler and Woods, who have won the Player of the Year three times.
But it was Scheffler's season, with the American's finest moment coming courtesy of a second Masters title in April, fighting off stern competition in the form of Ludvig Aberg and Colin Morikawa to don the green jacket once more.
He also became the first man in history to defend his Players Championship title after holding his nerve in a tense one-strike victory over Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman and Schauffele.
Scheffler also secured four wins at the tour's Signature Events: the Arnold Palmer Invitational, RBC Heritage, the Memorial Tournament and Travelers Championship.
His overall seven victories in the PGA Tour make him the first player since Woods to win that number in a single season and he did not miss a cut in a single event all year.
The American also held his spot at the top of the world rankings for the entire year, stretching his tenure at the top to 82 straight weeks.
Scheffler tasted gold in Paris, swinging Team USA to glory in the men's Olympic golf competition pipping GB's Tommy Fleetwood by one shot at Le Golf National.
PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan said: 'On behalf of the PGA TOUR, congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on a truly historic season, capped off with his first FedExCup title and today a third consecutive Jack Nicklaus Award as PGA TOUR Player of the Year.
'Scottie took on challenges from the best players in the world on the biggest stages all season, and being honored as PGA TOUR Player of the Year is the ultimate sign of respect from his peers.'
Earlier this year, Scheffler was arrested while making his way into Valhalla Golf Club for his second round at the PGA Championship, before being booked into jail on four criminal charges - including second-degree assault of a police officer.
Amid a traffic pileup outside the club - following a fatal accident earlier that morning - he was accused of ignoring police orders to pull over his vehicle and instead speeding away, which allegedly dragged Louisville Detective Bryan Gillis to the ground and left him with both minor cuts and torn pants.
All charges against him were eventually dropped, with Scheffler even considering taking legal action himself after his claim that the incident was simply one big misunderstanding was said to be 'corroborated by the evidence'.
The two-time major winner miraculously managed to make it to the first tee in time for his second round after being released and returning to Valhalla a couple of hours later.
Despite the dramatic ordeal, Scheffler claimed his stint behind bars was actually rather underwhelming.
'Honestly, jail was a touch boring because you're just sitting there staring at the wall,' he told McAfee and co.
